Acidrip codec problem!

I installed the latest version of mplayer with mp3 support and ALL the win32 codecs (which i copied to /usr/local/lib/codecs ). I also instal acid's acidrip (acid u rock man btw!) ok. When i choose the codec for the video i c some strange codecs. So if lavc the well known divx codec? I don't c any divx codec and i would like 2 encode 2 divx.

BTW i also use dvdrip. (hope no offense taken acid!) .Is the ffmpeg he divx codec in transcode? R there any differences?

PS i have installed mplayer with and without the '-with-win32lib etc option. Still can't c divx codec. Why?

sorry for not replying sooner.

any codecs available to acidrip will be the values that are returned if you ruin "mencoder -ovc help" that is where i find them from. if the codec you want is not there, then that is down to mencoder's configuration. lavc (FFMpeg libavcodec) is not a codec, but a package containing codecs. to encode to divx5 using lavc, you would chose lavc there and include the option "vcodec=mpeg4" in the options, it's there by default.
