this is what i get when trying to install anything:
Code:
E: could not get lock the administrator directory var/lib/dpkg/lock -open (11: Resource temporarily unavailable)
E: Unable to lock administration directory (var/lib/dpkg), is another process using it ?
I am assuming that the bash from a earlier session, during which the accident happened was executing the remove command and after i stop it in the middle of the proc, it got stuck therein.
I cannot find the bash terminal, nor i can open any packed manager, i really need some advice and waiting for your suggestions.
:~/Documents$ sudo kill $(cat /var/lib/dpkg/lock)
cat: /var/lib/dpkg/lock: No such file or directory
Usage:
kill pid ... Send SIGTERM to every process listed.
kill signal pid ... Send a signal to every process listed.
kill -s signal pid ... Send a signal to every process listed.
kill -l List all signal names.
kill -L List all signal names in a nice table.
kill -l signal Convert between signal numbers and names.
Code:
sudo apt-get install libqtcore4
E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'sudo dpkg --configure -a' to correct the problem.
Then i follow the requirements, but now a different error message appears :
Code:
E: Could not get lock /var/cache/apt/archives/lock - open (11: Resource temporarily unavailable)
E: Unable to lock directory /var/cache/apt/archives/
sudo dpkg --configure -a
Setting up man-db (2.6.0.2-2) ...
debconf: DbDriver "config": /var/cache/debconf/config.dat is locked by another process: Resource temporarily unavailable
dpkg: error processing man-db (--configure):
subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Errors were encountered while processing:
man-db
