While you guys consider his samba problem, consider mine too! I'm running OpenBSD 3.3, and Samba transfers are freaking slow. About 70KB/s over a 100mbps full-duplex switched network.

hi

have u checked ur network card? use mii-tool -v to display its status make its set at 100mbps or what ever ur network can take.

i have fixed my speed problem on mounting shres, i simply cut my smb.conf right back to this

global]
workgroup = NETWORK
netbios name = file_server
os level = 32
server string = Samba %V
guest account = smbguest
security = guest
socket options = TCP_NODELAY IPTOS_LOWDELAY SO_RCVBUF=8192 SO_SNDBUF=8192

[shared]
comment = shared space; for everyone
path = /shared
read only = no
guest ok = yes

try this on urs kleptophobiac see what happens, i am gunna have to play around with the config file a bit and reread the documenttation see whats new on settings etc.

kudos
