Accessing Samba shares from Fedora Core 2
I'm having trouble with my FC2 box accessing Samba shares on a server. I can only access with the IP address of the server. It already has the SMB client daemon installed. I cant figure out why it doesnt work with hostnames.
First off my network consists of a server with basic file-sharing capabilities (samba), 1 XP machine and 1 SuSE/XP dual boot machine. I am running DHCP and DNS as well on the server. The two machines running XP are able to access the shares on the Samba server with no poblem. I can also access the share when i start the SuSE/XP machine in Linux.
Also is there a way to make the FC2 machine join a workgroup?
