accessing real machine's shared folders in Virtualbox

In my Virtualbox virtual Linux machine, where will my real machine's shared folders be ? I don't know where to look. I've used shared folders only on virtual Windows boxes.

If it matters, the virtual Linux box is running MEPIS 8.

You need to activate Shared Folders. Run the VirtualBox control program, scroll the right-hand panel down, click "Shared Folders". You must not be running the virtual machine when you change settings.
