Accessing iTunes music sharing in Linux
My roommate runs shared music off of his computer using iTunes. When I'm in Windows, I can access this just fine from iTunes, but Is there any way I can access his music library in Linux?
(Of course, running iTunes in Wine _would_ work, if it were possible. ;)) |

That's just mean =)

Most of those results detail on how to set up an iTunes server in Linux that others can access; I want to do the opposite. I'm just looking for a media player that will access an iTunes server on my network. I've looked at the documentation for Zinf and it doesn't say anything on being able to do this...

By reading the docs about Zinf on it's website (the first link I provided has links in it) I discovered that Zinf can play http streams and since it is a simple file-->open dialogue, you could easily type in or, I guess, browse to your files. I also found a networked jukebox - http://obsbox.sourceforge.net/about.php which plays mp3. I also found this by reading about Zinf.

The best iTunes client I found was at http://www.cdavies.org/permalink/app...dsreleased.php - it runs on java. It works with the new protocol, as well :).

http://craz.net/programs/itunes/tunesbrowser.html - may also be something you would want to look at.
