Accessing a windows VPN from Mandriva 2006

I'm accessing the VPN of my job everyday, from my home with windows XP.

I would like to access it from my Mandriva 2006. Is it possible? if affirmative, how do I do to access it?

Greetings from Sao Paulo - Brazil

You have to give more information. Is VPN software running on your home Windows PC? If so, what software? If not, are you connected to some VPN hardware?

If the connection is a PPTP VPN one (e.g. you probably set it up through Networking in XP, and it acts like a dialup connection in that you connect/disconnect as required) you could use networkmanager (http://www.gnome.org/projects/NetworkManager/), with the PPTP module (see http://www.students.ncl.ac.uk/a.j.me...r/pptp-plugin/)

However, I've only seen it on Ubuntu, couldn't say about your distro, and I use Gnome, not KDE... not sure what you use...

-- However if it is an SSL VPN (for instance, that you access through a website), I doubt you will get it running well, if at all, as they rely heavily on Windows controls (Active X) and networking within Windows.

Good luck!

It's a PPTP VPN. I create a connection to fixed IP in the machine of my job. I connect in a similar way of a connection to ADSL provider. Then, after connect, I use a remote working area connection to identify the IP address of my computer in the network of my job. Soon I see the desktop screen of my work PC in my home PC.

I hope this informations are sufficient for your conclusions.

Ok - have a look here, it is for Mandrake 10.1, but may well have some relevance still. However I havn't tried Mandrake since a live CD a long while back, so don't know how it differs to Mandriva...
