Sorry I wasn't clear enough. I meant you can reinstall grub from Solaris booted of the DVD, not from grub itself.

All Solaris bootable media are kind of stripped down live distributions.

This is what I had done ,,,,I booted the laptop from the Solaris DVD media, when it came to the below choices :

Code:
Solaris Express Developer Edition
Solaris Expree
Solaris Express Serial Console ttya
Solaris Express Serial Console ttyb (for 1x50, v60x and v65x)
I highlited option 2, then press 'c' for a command line then I typed in the command :
Code:
/sbin/installgrub -m /boot/grub/stage1 /boot/grub/stage2 /dev/dsk/c0d0s0
Is this what suppoes I do ?

Yes. Did that fix the grub boot issue ?
