Access ext2 filesystem on external HD from Windows

I need to move files from an external hard drive formatted ext2 (connected thru USB 2.0) to a Windows machine and I'm not having any luck. explore2fs doesn't work for the external hd. I have also looked into buying Paragon's ext2fs Anywhere, but not sure if its what I need. Any thoughts?

AFAIK, windoze doesn't recognize ext2. (Lord knows I've tried) I have a couple of suggestions 1) Burn the files to cd and then reboot into windoze. 2) If you want to have access to the hd permanantly, move the files somewhere on linux, reformat the external hd as fat32 move the files back and reboot into windoze.

You can get an ext2 driver for Windows.

like NTFS in Linux, they're experimental and recommended only for read-only access.

There are a number of projects and I have no idea which is best and can't help you install them nor do I know if they'll even work with an external drive, but 2 of those projects are http://winext2fsd.sourceforge.net/ and http://sys.xiloo.com/
