About Wine, and why it makes me want to kill...
Basically, I've installed wine and winex. As far as I know, winex in and of itself isn't a command like Wine... unless I've done something terribly wrong. What I'm trying to do is install Fallout. Running as root, it doesn't work. When I'm running as a user the installer works, but I can't find the program when everything's said and done. When I'm logged in as root, it isn't even in the fake C drive. Anywhere.
What happens, basically, is my mouse and keyboard stop working entirely. They worked when I installed Diablo, but the game itself doesn't. The video's messed up but the sound plays. When I run Wine I always end up having to do a hard reboot, because NONE of my input works, at all. Anyone have any suggestions? |

I used to use Wine, but have no use for it anymore. I reccomend reading the documentation for WineX, because I don't think that normal Wine will run games like Diablo II correctly. Wine's not perfect and hard reboots when trying to run games are pretty common. I never really had a need for it, so I haven't installed it. There's a website somewhere with a bunch of Linux binaries for popular games like MOHAA and such, but I forget where it is. lol
