About pppd


I have setup up a pppd system for user to dial-in to the RH 8 system , how can i restrict the user login - only allow a specific user to login ? thx

what pppd are you using?
are there any SSL, chap or pap configs supported by the software your using??

sorry , i make mistake , I didn't set SSL , PAP , CHAP in my system previously.

Edit the file /etc/group and add/remove appropriate users from the appropriate groups. In debian it's the "dip" group.

also - in the dialup software your using - try looking for any login administration options. if it's gui go thru the tabs - if it's text based try looking at the man pages for the software and all it's paramenters.
