About postfix confuguration

hi to all, if you did read my posts, you have some idea that I am really newbie about linux and especially postfix, but with your helps I am learning so fast , due to this reason thank you all,
I confugure postfix , now I can send email to user that I created in my email server and send to other email addresses such as hotmail(but still they are recognized as a junk email ) anyway, as you remember our mail server in germany, and we wanna have a same mail server in my country, now I cant send from hotmail to my addresses because, the real host in germany maildealor recive the messages, I cant receive messages, I have hopeless@mycompany.com in my mail server, but hotmail recognize it in germany and send to that server ,and it says there is no a mail like that,
I wonder how I can recive the emails from other email servers, and especially how I can receive emails that sent to emails at the germany server,
I want to when a mail send to hopeless@mycompany.com , it comes to server that I created in my country not only the server in germany, but also my server, can I do this, have you any idea
thank you all

For this you will need to register a domain name, or perhaps you could use something like dyndns.

A registered domain name is a bit like an entry in a telephone book - mail servers and the like use it to translate a name (in this case the part to the right of the @ in you email address) into a number (in this case an IP address). Since I don't think you can enter an email address like hopeless@123.234.345.456 into most email clients.

The other alternative would be to have your German server forward emails for users on your server, but I don't know if this helps you.

Hope this helps a bit

Glad to hear you got Postfix working - it was a long process for you.

yeah really it was very long process for me:)
have you any idea that why I cant send emails from hotmail to the myserver, what I should do, because there is two ..@mycompany.com servers, one of them mine, and the other one in germany,
as you said should I registeer domain for that, cant I recive any messages, because we have a registered web site, cant I use that one, the mail server in germany uses that adress I think, what you prefer

Yes, and you will find on the internet name servers that the MX (that's the mail server) record for mydomain.com points to your German server.

This would be a good time to explain exactly what you are trying to achieve.

I understand very slowly:)
now forget about what I wrote above, now I understand the event,
my new problem is, I can reach my server writing IP adress , how I can reach it by writing name, for example to reach webmin in my server( in local area of cpurse not from internet, because without taking host from ISP I wont be able to reach it I guess), I wrote 192.169.29.17:10000, I wanna write mynewserver.com:10000 to reach
can I do this, is it possible?
