about diff linux package


hello there

i have fedora2 on my laptop and i want to know it ok to install gentoo on my laptop, what time of gentoo is base on forexmaple slackbox redhat or fc2, and what format it use
some how i don't like fc2 it looks baby can use it , i am currently looking for one cd for linux
the window menager i like is fluxbox. i hate kde and gnome to much problem i don't use.
i have look www.linuxiso.org there are offering two type of Gentoo Linux - Gentoo x86 Minimal and Gentoo Linux - Gentoo x86 Universal. i have a very high bendwith 5mhz cable modem, i want to install my own softwere. i want to what package in stall in minimal gentoo, and it ok to install on my laptop dell c800 900MHZ 512 Ram P3
