abiword won't start from panel

DOWNLOADS]# abiword

(AbiWord:1925): GnomeUI-WARNING **: While connecting to session manager:
Authentication Rejected, reason : None of the authentication protocols specified are supported and host-based authentication failed.

What does the above mean? Abiword starts from command line as abiword, but not from panel or email attachments from Evolution.
