Introduction to Linux - A Hands on Guide
This guide was created as an overview of the Linux Operating System, geared toward new users as an exploration tour and getting started guide, with exercises at the end of each chapter.
For more advanced trainees it can be a desktop reference, and a collection of the base knowledge needed to proceed with system and network administration. This book contains many real life examples derived from the author's experience as a Linux system and network administrator, trainer and consultant. They hope these examples will help you to get a better understanding of the Linux system and that you feel encouraged to try out things on your own.

w3m can show graphics in an xterm so i would have thought it could do the same in a framebuffer console but im not sure, i did read somewhere about a framebuffer webbrowser and a quick google for "framebuffer webbrowser" and a few links gave me
Links2 can. It was pretty nice. I'm going to try it out again on a few older boxes.
I did have a very interesting result with one box, though. Everytime it would close, my box would hard lockup... It didn't matter if I killed the processes, exited nicely, or ctrl+c'ed out.
Ok, I already tried zen and that's not probative...
It is not active at all...
I will try links (didn't heard about it), it seems to be intersting...
But I can't find anything about cbi scripts support. Javascript is OK, but CGIs ?
if you configure it right when you bild it you can have java script and graphics it dosent work that well with cookies but it can be used with forums that depend on cookies
do run configure --help or configure -help and get a look at the settings
best of all it is fast and at 3Meg it's the smallest graphic web browser I have ever seen
and it can work with frame buffer, svgalib and X11 but for FB and svgalibe it is best started
with a script
I have my answer, shame on me, that is not links that uses CGI but Apache...
Well, can I find a documentation for this browser ?
I would like to change the color of the buttons in forms, there are black, and my background is blue, not very good to see :P
This applies to my Gentoo build on a Celeron 850 box, tinwhistle.
I have an old 8 mb Riva video card in it and I put this in my ~./.bashrc file:
Code:
alias gweb='links2 -g -mode 1024x768x16M32 /home/fancy/bookmarks.html'
It's great and I love it, except for a couple of things. It messes up gpm in straight framebuffer virtual consoles, so I have to stop gpm. Restarting gpm even after exiting links2 and it still acts crazy. I can't figure out how to copy and paste using it. Perhaps it's just too new and bleeding edge to have all I want, but it is impressive in it's browsing speed.
Launch links2 -g and the resulting output should give some hints as to what size/color depth you can use.
