A Utility Named S (or maybe R)
The summary utility program that comes with NTP wants to execute a utility in /usr/local/bin named S. I can't find anything about such a utility (although there was one hint that R is the GNU version of S, but I can't seem to locate that either). There are actual files name S that are in places like /usr/share/groff/1.19.2/font/devX100-12/S, but I kind of don't think they're utilities (they're about character sets and the like).
Anybody got any idea what S or R are and where I might find such a thing?
R: www.r-project.org. I use it for my work. I've just checked the stats directory in my /usr/doc/ntp-<version>/scripts and there are scripts in there for S, or R. I recognise the code . I believe there's a SlackBuild for R over at SlackBuilds.org, though I created my own package for it.

Thank you -- went and got R from SlackBuilds.org and got it installed. Now all I have to do is figure out how to use the thing with those .S scripts and away we go... wow, zowie.

Again, thanks -- I had to fiddle with the summary utility (figuring out what was what as I went) faking S with R here and there (well, mostly just at the initial startup) and it appears to work. Life is good. Don't really want to start learning R (or, for that matter, S) but I like when things just kind of buzz along and do what they're supposed to every now and again and that seems to be the case with this.
