A Steam question by what counts as a newbie
I've been running different versions of Linux (Lubuntu mainly) on my low-spec machines, as well as on virtual machines, for a long time. It has been easy to get anything I wanted to work in most cases, but I'm in a strange case right now.
At the moment I'm stuck with just my hopelessly underpowered notebook running Lubuntu 18.04 in an unfamiliar place but I seriously want to finish up (this should tell you both my taste in gaming and how far behind the curve I am) Baba Is You. As such I've tried installing Steam, but I get strange errors. I get that libgl1-mesa-dri:i386 has unmet dependencies and that libGL.so.1 and libdrm.so.2 are missing so it can't be installed. Now, that isn't quite why I'm posting here...
The thing that gets me posting here is that my computer is a little...notoriously wonky and so I wonder if it just won't happen independent of what I do. It's crazy enough where it was hard to install Linux in the first place, djvu files refuse to open for any reason, and when I asked about problems installing AntiX on my model on their forum they basically said "good luck" (it's an Asus Vivobook E203MA). Does anyone know about how this hardware works with Linux to the degree that they'd know if getting Steam working and finishing up Baba is even slightly realistic?
