A Simple One: Video IN

I'm dont have a tv card, just s video in. All I want to do it view the content in my video in (playstation/video cam). How do I do this in linux? I know there is a project called rivatv, but first of all, do I need this since I dont have a tvcard? Secondly, is there an alternative to this for simply viewing video in? The reason is rivatv doesnt not work with framebuffers in the kernel which is what I need to have bootsplash for my distro. Thanks

(I have a MSI Geforce Ti4400 card, I believe it has the philips SAA7108E chip)
