a program to listen+accept incomming connection+echo packets ?

hey guys...
does any1 know of any software (other than packet sniffer)
that will listen to a port specified by me, then accept an incomming connection, and simply echo any packets incomming to the screen ?

and maybe allow my to send text to the conectee ???

i get lots of people port scanning me and attempting telnet connections ect ect.
and in my boredom would like to have a little fun / waste there time a little.
makethem think they are logged in as root... you know.. lol
