a problem!

i asked this before but nobody gave me a good answer
how do i put fluxbox into my intro interface in red hat 9 where u log in??

I don't quite understand the question, but if you mean you want to run Fluxbox when you log in from GDM, simply choose Fluxbox as the session type in GDM.

What DM (desktop manager) might you be using? If you're using kdm, you can configure it in the KDE Control Panel.
If you simply want to test fluxbox, launch xinit and type fluxbox into the X console.

you know when u enter red hat ... in appears a log in interface where u can select sessions ... how can i add fluxbox to that sessions menu ?

How did you install Fluxbox? I'm really a Debian guy but the rpm package should install a session file for Fluxbox.

The directory may be different on RedHat, but here's the general idea - create a new file called fluxbox in /etc/gdm/Sessions/, then edit it and add something like this:

# First try for a fluxbox Session file for gdm
exec /etc/X11/Xsession /usr/bin/fluxbox

Your paths may be different - type which Xsession and which fluxbox in a shell to get the correct locations.

Good luck. :)
