actually clarkconnect can be run in a standalone mode...as well as router/firewall
http://www.clarkconnect.com/wiki/ind...ur_Server_Type and it does have a web based ftp server among many other features http://www.clarkconnect.com/wiki/ind...s_-_FTP_Server i think those links are old but i'm sure the latest version is similar :D i've had uptimes of over 30 days with this distro before - considering i don't have a ups that's not bad  |

ahh, yes you are right
i was thinking he needed a complete distro...not just an ftp server:) |
Hey bobothn, I was looking for an FTP server with a GUI too. But I never found one. I'm using vsftp now. Its not that hard to configure it.
|
the reson i need it with a gui is cause i have a freind runnig a linux server. and he is dumber then a box of rocks. but he dose have fast internet tho so.

if no one knows of a stand alown one but nows of a distro that is nice that has one that can work as a http ftp and game server plz tell me.
and it also need to be easy to work with |
i'd be pretty sure that webmin has access to proftpd and other common servers.
generally speaking server software will not have a main gui at all... there's just plain no need for them, and so the developers of said servers aren't exactly fussed about it. there are tho 3rd party packages that can fongiure these for you, i.e. webmin, which i hate with a big stick. |
