A more sensible editor with ident

Hi.
I'm looking for a programming editor with the possibliy to auto ident as Xemacs does.
(By ident I mean, the programmed lines are tabbed at their right place according to the language that is written).

It must recognise the languages C, C++, Java, Perl (more is better), and be able to auto ident the text.

The editor is ment to be used in Windows (I know this is kinda off topic).
The reason why I cannot use Windows version of Xemacs, is related to the fact that the network people at my institute won't install it.
It seems like it is quite a hassle for the network guys to setup the editor in order to make Xemacs function properly.

Any suggestions?

Heh, that must be because they don't know their stuff or they just plain don't want to - installing Emacs NT isn't very hard at all.

Anyway, with the risk of starting a holy war, may I suggest you look into vim/gvim? It comes as a simple Windows installer and then customization is up to the user.

I've actually had good luck with Jedit. Yes, I know it is a bit slow because it is a Java app, but I work in a multiple OS environment and it does the trick for me.
