A LibreOffice Writer Question II

I posted previously on a very related issue: A LibreOffice question. IN short I've had this problem that I cannot insert page numbers in an .odt file because my frame does not have INSERT option. I uninstalled LibreOffice and reinstalled it again but the frame is still the same. I hope somebody will answer my question: Why?

From the description you gave in your previous thread it appears that you don't have the menu bar, just the buttons which would normally be underneath. As to how to fix it I can't find anything that can toggle the menubar on or off.
Do you have it set for any special view (full screen perhaps)?

You never did tell me whether you tried removing libreoffice-gtk as I suggested. Ho hum.

If you press Alt-I (press the Alt key then keep on pressing it as you press the I key), does that show anything?

In such cases it's worth a try to delete application settings after deinstalling, and before reinstalling. Or only deleting the settings without reinstall.

/home/username/.config/libreoffice/

And of course researching and following advice that's already been given, and giving feedback.

Hi,

I have had a read through both posts...could you advise how you installed libreoffice pls? The specific command. If you could include the install process it would be good.

Regards

I solved it. What happened was that I like to minimize the interface/frame and when I do it the upper task bar disappears. If I maximize the interface the top task bar shows up and there is an INSERT tab there all right.

Thanks everyone for help. Sorry for all the trouble. A lesson for me too. - Alex
