A Firefox add-on question

Hi,

In the past I used an add-on for Firefox that when I pressed the space bar, numbers came up and where linked to hyperlinks. Then when you entered a specific number associated with a hyperlink that link would load.

I have forgotten how that add-on is named and I would like to know that name. Can someone tell me which add-on I am writing about?

Another add-on that is similar is also welcome. I just want to use the keyboard when browsing.

Thanks.

Ben

Found this in a quick search but not sure it's the one you seek:

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir...content=search

There may be others but I don't use addons so haven't come across anything like this.

I have found an add-on that does the same, and more. The add-on is called Vim Vixen. It can be found here: https://addons.mozilla.org/nl/firefox/addon/vim-vixen/

That add-on allows you to browse the web with Firefox, without the use of a mouse. Just press -f and read what I wrote above.

For Google Chrome there is a add-on that is called Moly HaH It can be found here: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/d...amgfalpkffeeek

It should do the same as -f for Vim Vixen, but for Moly HaH you will have to press E.

Oh, Vim Vixen is not the only one.
  • Tridactyl (latest: Nov 2021, 4.5K users) — this one is what I use
  • Vimium FF (latest: Jul 2021, 30K users)
  • Vimium C (latest: Nov 2021, 4K users)
  • Saka Key (latest: May 2020, 2.5K users)
  • Surfingkeys (latest: May 2021, 1.5K users)
  • QuantumVim (latest: Nov 2017, 45 users) — seems to be abandoned

I guess Vimium is the most popular of the pack on Chrome as well. Vimium C, cVim and Firenvim are also available there.

Not an add-on, but qutebrowser is also an option.

I have found this one also:

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir...don/linkhints/ It is called Link Hints

It is available for both Firefox and Chrome.
