A few questons to resolve a few problems
I have Elyssa Linux Mint with a few problems to resolve......
I have loaded Firestarter to start when I boot up, but each time it asks me for my password. Can I get it to start without having to do this. I am the only one that uses this computer so no one is going to interfere with any settings. Hope you can help with my dilemmas Tony |
Welcome to LQ.
If you want help, I suggest to title your question more specifically. Someone with the answer may just bypass your question. I suggest to copy the startup script to rc.local. It should be located in /etc/init.d |
Try using sudo.

The sudo command, which lets one execute a command as another user is what I think you might be looking for. As I understand it sudo would allow you to start Firestarter, an iptables front-end, at the launch of the operating system automatically. I wish that I could help further but I am merely a novice and can only recommend to you the Firestarter Problems on Bootup thread.
By the way, GNU/Linux Mint looks like an interesting Debian-based distribution, I was not previously aware of it. |
I have deleted Mint and trying another Linux. Thanks for your help
