a bug in links2 (2.1pre37)

Using version 2.1pre37 of links2 in the ubuntu packages (crunchbang linux), the option -http-proxy, used correctly with otherwise working (and anonymous, not transparent) proxy, does not proxy my web surfing with it at all. I have checked this on things like and my real one showed up even though I clearly used the option correctly to start the thing. Any ideas? And lol, does anyone even use links2?
