Angry A big problem

Dear friends,
Recently what happened is I found a username by the name policy and process on my firewall.

An administrator who was earlier to me has created it as a backup of root's account ...
unware of it I deleted the user .. i even lost the root's profile and everything...
since then the profile started to look like -bash:"no login " logging in with "/"
which was like [root@firewall root]
I created a directory by the name /root and started to login

and one more doubt...

if we delete a user's login can we retrieve it?
Can anyone help me to get back the profile from it ...

Million Thank you in advance

Please mail me at mahendra.j@ocimumbio.com

Not really no. Not unless you have working backups of your passwd, shadow, and the users personal files.

You are just going to have to create a new .bash_profile file by hand, or copy from an existing user...

Sorry.

PS: make sure '/root' is owned by root and chmodded '700'
