6 channel audio with linux


is there a mixer available so i can have all 6 channels on my sound card used. I have the nforce 2 chipset.

Go download the Nforce drivers from nVIDIA

I did and they work great. My question is how do i get the all 6 channels for my 6 speaker set. In windows i had cool little mixer that did for me is there such a device in linux or not.

Depending on the program you are actually using... If you use the standard GNOME Mixer, it has a preset of labels (in some cases the igain and ogain represent rear and front speackers) check the nVIDIA package (I don't have an NForce card, so I cannot say for sure, though I've worked with one) and there should be a program to configure the standard mixer device for the NForce (don't mind me much, but I think it is called nfmixer)
