56K Modem

Well my friend wants to join me in using mandrak 9.1, but he doesn't know if he can. He still uses 56K. We can't find out if his modem is compatible with mandrake 9.1. I was hoping someone here could help me out. Here's his modem.

56K* ITU v.92 ready Fax/Modem

Also... If it turns out that he can use that modem, what program do you use to dial up? I haven't had to in Linux, so I have no clue.
