5.1 surrond sound via Digital in Pop_Os
Hello,
I am hoping someone here can help me, for I have been looking everywhere. I have a 5.1 channel surround system capable of Dolby DTS, I have it hooked up through the digital jack but Pop is only seeing 2 of the speakers, front left and front right. (This same issue has occurred when going through analog, it only ever sees the two front speakers)
I've edited my pulse audio configuration for six channels and followed some very old guides I found on the net for Ubuntu to disastrous results detailing the Alsa A52 codec (Luckily I was able to roll it back without having to reinstall.) All of the information I've been able to glean from searches seems to be at least five years old, which, as one can imagine, is dicey at best.
Thank goodness I'm lucky at failing in the right direction.
In addition to that I've checked in with Alsa Mixer, and installed PAUVControl. On the main, it seems my configuration is in line with what one would expect, but still, my OS remains recalcitrant and persists in only ever seeing two speakers.
I'm more than willing to learn if someone could point me to a guide, script or offer advice.
