3 (or more) way video conferencing?
I've been trying to find a good solution for this, and so far I've not had much luck. Web-based solutions have been laggy and buggy, and any software solutions seem to be windows-only.
I can set up a server on my machine if needed, but opening ports on all the participants is definitely not an option. Windows compatibility isn't necessary, but a nice-to-have. |
Skype will work if you use their Business conference function (free). It is closed source, but it does run on most common distro's, windows, and Mac. I use it on a 286Kbs DSL connection over wireless regurarly and don't run into any audio lag but video sometimes freezes (although that may have something to do with my setup).
Hope this helps http://www.skype.com/intl/en-us/home |
I have played with alot of video conferencing packages and in the end, I keep coming back to using Polycom. Yes, they can be pricey. But this is one area where you get what you pay for.
No, I do not work for, nor derrive any income from Polycom... |
