212k RAM ?

I was fiddling with GNOME today, looking at all those nice little programs that come bundled with it, and stumbled upon the system resource monitor (don't remember the exact name, sorry). It has a nice graphical monitoring of CP activity and remaining memory. And right under it, we get the allocated memory vs. total memory, same thing for swap. How nice.

Except I get this:

RAM : 20k of 212k
swap : 10k of 51k

Now that's funny, considering I have a 1 Gb swap partion and 512 Mb of RAM. I was more than afraid, so I went into console and called top, which reassured me : X was taking its usual ~100 Mb or so, but there was still about 250 Mb or so left.

What could cause this ? This isn't a major problem, but I just want to make sure nothing's broke on my system.

You can test your RAM whit Memtest86 (http://www.memtest86.com/) and look if there is a problem whit it.
