2 questions

Hi, I am using RHL9 kde, I installed mplayer by using utility Synaptic and it installed properly, my question is that how to run mplayer, where is it installed. At terminal window I typed mplayer and it gave me a long list of options. I want to run it from Desktop as GUI.
My another question is that whenever I have to start terminal window, I have to double click at Home icon at desktop and then from Tool I run it, is there anyway so that I can create a shortcut on desktop.
Thanks.

billobadshah,

to find out where programs are installed, you can try:
locate programname

or
whereis programname

I have no idea about icons - maybe you can use drag & drop (if your gui supports it) - don't know much about big desktop and window manager.
