New 3D Linux Desktop Enviroment
 
I don't know if any of you have heard of this, but it's defiantly news to me.

I appears that Sun Microsystems are developing 2 new desktop environments for linux. The 'Java Desktop Environment' and 'Looking Glass'.

The Java one looks like Windoze XP, but Looking Glass looks gorgeous!

They have been in development for a while now - there is actually a JDS forum and LQ now.

I got a chance to play with Looking Glass at LWE UK in August, it looks pretty good but still doesn't feel complete to me. I'd certainly like to give it another try once it is released publicly.
