A few days ago, I downloaded the program Crack 5. I extracted it and followed the instructions on the Red Hat Linux Bible book. It tells me to save the page: ".users.dircon.co.uk/~crypto/download/c50a-linux-util-makefile.txt" in the directory "c50a/src/util/Makefile". The browser should have promted me to replace the existing Makefile which it never did promt me. The first time I put in the command "-makeonly" it gives me this error:
cid.o ../../run/bin/linux-2-i686/libc5.a
elcid.o: In function `elcid_test':
/home/johndoe/newprogram/crack5/c50a/src/util/elcid.c:159: undefined reference to `crypt'
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make[1]: *** [../../run/bin/linux-2-i686/dictfilt] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/johndoe/newprogram/crack5/c50a/src/util'
make: *** [utils] Error 1
Then, the second time I put the same command it gave me this error:
cid.o ../../run/bin/linux-2-i686/libc5.a
cc: elcid.o: No such file or directory
make[1]: *** [../../run/bin/linux-2-i686/dictfilt] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/johndoe/newprogram/crack5/c50a/src/util'
make: *** [utils] Error 1
I thought I was doing something wrong so I did the command a second time. I don't know why it gave me two different erros. I don't know why the second time the libc5.a file doesn't exist anymore. How can I replace the makefile when it doesn't promt me? It's possible I'm leaving something behind. It will be greatly aprecciated if anyone can help me. Oh, and for those who don't know, I'm a
Thanks in advance.
