2 ?'s about Mepis 6.5

Hi,
I recently tried installing Mepis 2.0 on a hard drive, and had problems. So I d/l'd Mepis 6.5 and installed it on the wrong hard drive.

1st question: It seems I can't format either hard drive to use Dos or Windows anymore, so do I need to buy another drive to install Windows? There are no partitions on either drive.

2nd question: Mepis 6.5 installed very easily and I could instantly get on the web without any configuration of my cable modem or without downloading extra software. However, I go on youtube a lot, and I noticed my sound doesn't work! I haven't tried to play a CD or anything yet, but there's no sound to the games either. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

In what way does formatting fail? And what do you mean 'no partitions'? You mean a single partition? Anyway - if you fdisk the drive, you should be able to create as many partitions as you want and you can then format them to whatever fs you want. You certainly shouldn't need a new hard drive unless the drive is physically damaged.

As far as #2, sorry, I don't use youtube. Does sound work for other applications and/or other websites?

BTW, we do have a Mepis subforum - you might email a mod and ask for this to be moved if you think it would get you better exposure/help.
