Question 0.9.7x -- 0.9.6x ?

What is the difference & purpose of these two series ?

"0.9.7c" has been flagged as LATEST but 0.9.6.l is having more recent date !

Which is actually more latest ?

I suppose 0.9.6 has been applied some backported patch to fix a bug.
I'd go with 0.9.7, still a difference in 2nd minor number isn't really so critical.
If you feel curious see release notes.
