I'm using Intrepid, and I can't access to my account anymore but from console, and I was hoping that an upgrade could fix it. The problem is that neither wired or wireless seem to work using the console (ctrl+alt+f1 from login screen), while I can connect using the live cd.
So, is there a way to upgrade my Intrepid running a live cd?

What do you mean you can't access the account except from console? Do you mean you get no GUI, or that you usually login remotely from another machine and now cannot do a remote login?

If it's a GUI problem and you have a network problem as well, it is best to tell us what you have been doing that got you in trouble so the system can be fixed without a reinstall.

There are tricks to recover or update with the help of a live CD, but I want to know what you were doing before I give you instructions which can mess up your system more if you get them wrong.
