I've recently compile thunar 4.17
I don't have gitlab account
So I report the bug here
When you split the view (F3)
You need to do it twice when you resize the window if you want the split bar to be centered, probably because it keeps in memory the previous size
PS: no issue if you resize the window with split view active
Even if you don't have a GitLab account, the email address of the Thunar maintainer is displayed rather prominently on the page. Why don't you write to him and report the issue?

Problems with mail are :
- no one knows the existence of the issue
- no one knows how to resolve it, in case there is a solution
- no one can follow the bug
