[redhat] make dualboot system

Hi folks

I have tried to make a dual boot system with win XP.

I already make the partitions, and installed Redhat. I put grub in the first sector of the /boot.
But Redhat won¡¦t start up with the disk ƒ¼, is this because I didn¡¦t marked the option ¡§force to be a primary partition¡¨ for the /boot wile partitioning?

I¡¦d like to use the NT boot loader, so I wanted to put grub.bin on the c:\ and then put a rule extra in the win MBR.
That would be: 'c:\grub.bin = "linux" . But were do I net to put it in my win MBR? My current MBR is:

[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect

could someone show me where to put it?

I don't know how it is with grub, but it was installed in the first sector of /boot you need to:
1) Find out which partition is /boot. The easiest method: look into /etc/fstab and look what is next to /boot. It's /dev/hdax where x is a number (hda if it's your first hd).
2) Now you need an image of first sector of /boot
dd if=/dev/hdax of=grub.img count=512
3) Copy new file 'grub.img' to your Windows C:
4) Boot to windows and add to boot.ini
C:\GRUB.IMG="Linux"
Save and reboot.
