[nfs] remote client do not have write access

Hi,

I have a server which exports /usr with rw option. I want to mount it on a remote client and have read-write access to it. In the /etc/exports file, I write

/usr 192.168.1.0/24(rw)

On the remote client, I mounted it and I see it is mounted with read-write enabled. But I still do not have write access to it. The /usr has mode 755, which means on the root have write access to it. On the client, I am root also. I doubt that the nfs recognize the locale root and the remote root as different user. And the remote root does not have the same access right as the locale one. What should I do to have write access?

BTW, on both machine, the root have id 0.

You need an option called no_root_squash to enable write access. However, it's not recommended as it's a pretty big security risk!
