[LVM] Difference between vgimport e vgextend


what 's the difference between vgextend and vgimport?

basically do the same thing?

No, their manpages clearly say they do totally different things. vgextend adds physical volumes to a volume group, vgimport makes an existing but exported volume group known to the system. They are operating at different levels in the LVM heirarchy.
