[evolution] error when sending mail

Hello,

I use evolution for a while and a problem appear (i don't know if i've done something wrong but maybe)

When I try to send a message with sendmail, I've got this error :

Error while performing operation:
Could not send message: Broken pipe

And when I try with an SMTP server, i've this one :

Error while performing operation:
MAIL FROM response error: Operation now in progress

I've already reinstall evolution and sendmail

I've searched in man page, on web site, but I haven't found anything.
Someone have an idea?

Thanks in advance.

Are you using your own SMTP server or your ISP's, etc? You can try this, not sure if it will help but try to remove all the lines in your /etc/hosts file except for the actual hosts entries. Remove all the commented lines, empty lines, etc that is. Then see if you still have problems sending mail with that "MAIL FROM response" type error.

OK!

That's work now with the SMTP, but not with sendmail. I have always a broken pipe.

Thanks a lot for the help.

Hi!

The problem was that I've not the right permission on the directory : /var/spool/clientmqueue.

I've change that, and now everything work.

What I don't understand is why this permission has changed.

Thanks a lot.

Fantastic, it's solved my problem (the same above).

But I do not understand why are this happening with Evolution?
