You could try using --skip-broken to work around the problem
You could try running: rpm -Va --nofiles --nodigest
[root@mysite /]#

Any help would be great.

Thank you

So, did you?

"help" is often included. :)

solved by this:
/etc/yum/pluginconf.d/priorities.conf

set to enabled = 0

:D

FACT: Your mileage is limited with yum. Sooner or later this sort of thing starts, and the solution is a reinstall.

If you see specific errors you want to sort, rpm has options which tell it to stop playing silly buggers and do stuff. I'm thinking of things like --nodeps, --force, --oldpackage, --ignoreos, --ignorearch, --go-to-hell, etc. Using them (man rpm for a list) you can happily bugger up your system so a reinstall is your only option, but you might just fix it.

In going that road, it's safest to uninstall a subdivision of the distro and hope than when you reinstall it, the dependecncies land in better order.
