Question XDMCP Issues

I have a couple of issues going on and am in need of assistance since I have tried googling with no effect. I have tried all I have found with no effect.

Installed CentOS 4.4 and got Xmin working with relatively no issues except that when I use the graphical login, I am able to login fine, but only get a black screen instead of the KDE splash screens. No problem, just don't use graphical login. Graphical looks better so would like to know if there is a simple fix for this.

Recently upgraded to CentOS 5.0 using the DVD and local upgrade option. Also did a yum update prior to any configurations and resolved all update conflicts. Now get "Setting up interprocess communication" message at bottom of screen. Found several references and tried them all, but most seem to apply to a system being frozen at this point. My system functions just fine and I do not get this message when logging in locally, only with Xmin. Not sure this is an Xmin issue so assuming something not configured correctly on the Linux box. I tried the XDMCP HOWTO and in this release files have been moved and renamed so not sure exactly where all changes were moved to. I have found most except that am still unable to login with the xfs server. Xmin just hangs when I try. Works except for the message about the intereprocess being setup. I am able to interact with the system, just can't see behind the splash screen. Also still have previous issue about the graphical login.

I am mainly concerned with the xfs and interprocess issues. I did not get either of these prior to upgrading. Also using latest version of Xmin. Windows system is XP sp2 with no firewall enabled. Using the Linux system for this funciton.

Found that this is only occuring on the Standard splash screen. Using any other splash works fine. Switch back to Standard and have same issue. Could this just be corrupted from the upgrade?
