Question Windows authentication in RHEL for Apache 2 Security.

Hi All
currently in the enironment in question there is mixed platform servers ranging from Windows 2003 Server, Novell Netware and also a single RHEL server running all the sites websites. I am searching for a way to configure the RHEL box to authenticate the windows domain users against apache on RHEL so that domain sign ons can be used in place of apache.

I have managed to get by with all my own requirements in apache for some time now, however LDAP (if this is what is required) is something that is totally new to me.

Would anyone out there be able to give me some pointers on where to start?

thanks in advance

You should get winbind (samba) working with your DC first. There are howtos for this. For 2003 AD, you should be using kerberos authentication to the ad. Once that's set up, just put winbind into your pam config and use the mod_auth_pam module for apache.
pam sourceforge net/mod_auth_pam/

thanks for the assistance, As I dont have access to the server I have passed on your info to the tech on staff. I have worked closely with the ICT manager who isn't very linux friendly.
