What server should I get

I'm looking to put a linux server OS on and old p3 800mhz, 128 mb ram, 30 gig hd to learn more about it. The thing is that I would like to remote into it from my vista pc bc I dont have a spare monitor, keyboard or mouse. So if anyone has any suggestions on which one I should get and how I could remote into it one I set it up.

Debian. Set it up for ssh access and you'll be all set. Here's a good site that will help you setup your server.

I'm using CentOS 5 server on a real low end PC and I'm quite happy with it's performance so that might be another good one to look into
