What is the meaning of database refresh


Hi my senior advised me to refresh the database in our server is there any specific commands to refresh the database. if none can i know what is the meaning of database refresh in a server?im thinking that refreshing the database is similar to updating the database in the server is that correct?

You should ask them what they meant - there is zero information here for anyone to help you with.

Do you have any idea how to run sql file to the server?i am using putty terminal.

Using Putty probably means that you are working from a Window$ machine (i.e., not G NU/Linux).

The server is completely unknown to us - OS, RDBMS, configuration, access permissions, etc.

"Refreshing" a database is not an universal operation and the meaning likely depends on the business rules governing use of the server, so again, ask the person who told you to do it what they meant by "refresh". If you do it incorrectly you might cause data loss, and job loss!
