hello,
recently i installed qmail in centos5.4.and created domain and email acc. how i can send "welcome mail" automail to every new account whenever i create ids.
pls guide
As you've been asked several times in the past, STOP using text-speak, and spell out your words...it's "please", not 'pls'.
And if you have a script that generates new user accounts, why not just add something to the end of it to send that user a pre-type welcome message, that you have saved in a text-file? A good suggestion is here: http://www.gossamer-threads.com/list...l/users/126826
Since you've been working with qmail for at least 3 years now, how have you BEEN doing this?
iam not having any script for creating new user.
i just use /home/vpopmail/bin/vadduser newuser@domail.co.in
in past we have mail support with vendor. But now we have no support in mail server.
New requirement is raised by upper dept. for sending greeting mail whenever we create new email id.
iam not expert of mail server so can u give some guide line.
link you share is ok. but tell me how to run the script on every new account.
Can you clear by example.

Again:
STOP USING TEXT SPEAK...you have been told this MANY times, and continue to do it. Read the LQ Rules. It's "you" not "u", "please", not "pls".
You have been using qmail for THREE YEARS NOW...you are not 'new' to it.
You have been working with Linux that long. You should be able to write your own scripts, so I'm not going to 'clear by example', and write your script for you.
If this is for your company, then it would seem that you have a job you're not qualified for, and that you need to tell your boss(es) you need training.
Since you're using the vadduser command, did it not occurr to you to put that into a script, along with the sed command from the OTHER post (which you were handed, since you didn't look it up on your own), and have the script you're after. A two-line script should be something that someone with three years of experience can handle. Please see some advice you've given others before: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...8/#post4769068
avoid my spelling.and iam not using centos for a long time .iam aware of linux but not master of linux.
As i have mentioned in last reply we are having support of mail server but now not.
That's why iam here.
You are not guiding me properly .Definitely i required of training. But my comp.will not provide.
Forum is to guide help support not to point on mistake.
If i have solution then why should i be here.
So if you want to guide me than reply me solution .else close my post.
"kindly help me to sort out the problem. This is little bit urgent. Early help will be highly appreciated"" by some member
Is this line is ok for you. Haven't you seen this.
No, YOU avoid using text-speak, and adhere to the LQ Rules.

...and you don't need to be a 'master of Linux' to write a two line script. You already provided ONE line of it with the add user command...and I gave you the other line in the link I had to look up for you. And you've been posting questions steadily for years now, which would indicate that you have been USING Linux for years. Also, your question isn't about CentOS, but Qmail, isn't it??? So even if you HAVEN'T touched CentOS in years (which isn't true), the solution remains the same no matter what version/distro you're using.

I already spoon-fed you a link, and gave you the solution. If YOU are the support person for your company, then it's time that YOU step up and start learning. You were given the link that has a great suggestion in it for how to send that email, and you provided the first line of the script already. Here's an additional hint, since you need to be spoon-fed: the link I handed you has a line using 'sed'..that's the one you put in your script; the OTHER line for your script is the vadduser command you already have.
Again, you have been posting about Qmail for THREE YEARS...if you can't manage a two-line script after three years of experience/learning, then you need to tell your boss you can't do the job.

No idea what this relates to, what you mean by it, or how it applies here. If you have 'urgent' issues at your company, then your company needs to hire someone to get this done. Again, you have been 'guided', and had the answer handed to you...if you can't manage the rest, there's not much we can do.
