i am planning to start a website that grabs screenshots with given URL.

is there any way to make screenshots of website with PHP? i searched on the web and this website tells about capturing screenshots using only linux.

is there any simpler way to accomplish this? i am on a shared host.

Well you could probably have PHP run an execute on a 3rd party application that can create screenshots from a command line argument. Find a tool that can achieve such tasks, then incorporate it into your PHP code to execute.
